TransTech Energy Conference Slated for Nov. 14-16 in Morgantown

Make plans to attend the first TransTech Energy Business Development Conference, which will be held Nov. 14-16, 2012 at the Waterfront Place Hotel in Morgantown. The conference is dedicated to identifying and promoting investment in start-up TransTech Energy (TTE) companies and commercializable projects that hold promise to create jobs, to provide opportunities for advanced manufacturing, and to improve efficiencies of existing energy-intensive companies and fossil energy industries.

Among the TransTech Energy (TTE) technologies and strategies that will be discussed are ones that can help energy-intensive companies and fossil fuel industries improve efficiencies, reduce CO2 and other GHG emissions, while improving competitiveness of manufacturing companies that are some of the very largest customers of fossil-based power.  Other TransTech Energy technologies that will be part of the Conference are ones designed to move along the pathway to a lower carbon, industrially competitive, and sustainable clean energy economy of the future.

Conference sessions include:

  • Manufacturing Challenges, Opportunities, and Solutions for TransTech Energy Innovations;
  • Identifying, Funding and Commercializing Transformational Energy Technologies;
  • How to Start and Grow a New TransTech Energy Company;
  • Transforming a Nation: Challenges, Innovations, and Venture Opportunities thru 2050.

Another goal of the Conference is to provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase innovative business ideas. Start-up TTE companies, innovators and entrepreneurs can apply to pitch new business or commercializable projects to investors for funding: 25 Innovations for a TransTech Energy Start-Up.

The Conference agenda, application and registration forms, concept paper guidelines, and examples of TTE technologies are on the Conference website. The Conference is a technology transfer and outreach activity of ARPA-E, WVDE, WVU, WVMEP, and other public and private sector co-sponsors. TechConnect West Virginia is a sponsor.
