Innovation and Entrepreneurship Day at the Capitol on March 11

Industries of the Future-WV and TechConnectWV will host “Innovation & Entrepreneurship Day” on March 11, 2013 at the State Capitol.  As part of the event, a wide variety of West Virginia companies, organizations, groups, and agencies will be at the Capitol to showcase West Virginia’s economy of the future.

“We are thrilled that 35 entities have already signed up as participating organizations,” said Anne Barth, Executive Director of TechConnectWV.  Several of these entities also will have exhibit booths in the Capitol building.

“This day is intended to showcase innovation companies, agencies, entrepreneurs, and startup firms that are leaders in innovation and entrepreneurial activities.” Barth added that the event is a great way to share information with legislators and to network with colleagues about ideas and initiatives that will increase jobs, create new businesses, and spur economic development.

The day also will include a special luncheon by IOF-WV (there is a $15 per person cost to attend) at the Culture Center, featuring presentations of the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Industrial Energy Efficiency and the Governor’s Award for Leadership in Advanced Green Manufacturing.  In addition, TechConnectWV will host a forum in the House Chamber immediately following lunch.  (More details to come.)
