TechConnecWV, the Allegheny Conference, & URS Corporation Partner to Support NETL
TechConnectWV has signed a subcontract with URS Corporation, an international engineering and technical firm, to provide support services in regional outreach and technology transfer as part of the firm’s work on behalf of the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL).
TechConnectWV will partner with the Allegheny Conference, a non-profit economic development organization based in Pittsburgh, to identify technology needs of regional industries and also technologies developed at NETL that are ready to be commercialized in the private sector.
“Our goal is to raise awareness and conduct outreach to ensure that key stakeholders in private industry are engaged with leaders and researchers at NETL as they address our nation’s energy challenges and opportunities,” said Anne Barth, Executive Director of TechConnectWV.
Terri Marts, VP, URS and Program Manager for the Research and Engineering Services contract at NETL, said, “URS is happy to have support from TechConnectWV and Allegheny Conference to link NETL’s technological capabilities with industry needs to expedite the commercialization of federally-funded research and development.”
Working together, TechConnectWV, the Allegheny Conference and URS will impact the region’s energy industry by aligning resources to stimulate growth in the energy sector throughout the region and attract investment across a portfolio of energy-related assets.
