Spirit of Innovation Awards to be Held October 22, 2013

Thirty-three individuals and firms have been nominated for TechConnect’s Inaugural Spirit of Innovation Awards.  Designed to celebrate success and showcase innovation in the State of West Virginia, the awards will be presented during a banquet from 6 – 8 pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Waterfront Place Hotel in Morgantown.

“This is an opportunity to celebrate the individuals and organizations who are leaders in innovation and innovation-based business development throughout the state,” said Anne Barth, executive director of TechConnectWV.  “We congratulate all who have been nominated, and are eager to share their stories,” she added.

Awards will be granted in five categories, including Innovator of the Year, Innovative StartUp of the Year, Student Innovator of the Year, Investor Recognition Award, and Outstanding Woman in Technology.

“With many exciting developments underway in our state’s innovation and technology economy, the goal of this award program is to showcase success stories and inspire others who have an entrepreneurial spirit,” she said.
