Plan to Attend Innovation & Entrepreneurship Day at the Capitol March 16

Calling all West Virginia innovators and entrepreneurs! Join TechConnect West Virginia and the TransTech Energy business Development Program for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Day at the Capitol on March 16.  The goal of the day-long event is to showcase the amazing innovation occurring in the state – and its economic impact – to policy makers and opinion leaders. To register, or for more information, click here.

Anne Barth, executive director of TechConnect West Virginia, said, “Our goal is to put a face on the innovation economy to let policy makers know this industry is not only alive and well, but growing and creating jobs across the Mountain State.  If you’re a tech-based company, manufacturer, funder, research organization, economic developer or resource provider involved in the tech fields, please join us on March 16.”

Barth said efforts like this are important for nurturing an innovation-friendly environment.  The event provides the opportunity to network around the Capitol Rotunda with legislators, key state officials, manufacturers, innovators, entrepreneurs and colleagues.

This event offers you the opportunity to exhibit or demo your product or service in person to state policy leaders.  Forty exhibitor spots are available, so make your reservation very soon.

The TransTech Energy Business Development Program will host an awards luncheon at 12:30pm to recognize the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Industrial Energy Efficiency and Advanced Green Manufacturing.

New for this year, TechConnect will announce the winners of their Spirit of Innovation Awards, which recognize leadership in innovation and technology-based business development.

“We have so many exciting things going on in our state’s innovation and technology economy, and we want to make sure others know about them,” said Barth. “The goal of the Spirit of Innovation Awards competition is to highlight some of these success stories and perhaps inspire others who have an entrepreneurial spirit.”

The event agenda is listed below.

For those interested in exhibiting, there is a $25 per table fee (which includes access for one person to the luncheon).  The stand-alone cost for lunch is $15.  There is no cost to attend the event.
