Next Stops on House of Delegates Listening Tour: Martinsburg & Parkersburg
Martinsburg and Parkersburg are the next stops on the “Seeking Solutions | Celebrating Successes” Listening Tour of the West Virginia House of Delegates. The Martinsburg session will be held at the Holiday Inn in Martinsburg from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on October 14. The Parkersburg session will be held at the WVU Parkersburg Campus, in the Student Activity Center, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on October 21.
The open “town hall” type meetings are part of a series underway around the state, and are open to all West Virginians but are targeted to small businesses and those interested in entrepreneurship.
The delegates would like to hear about issues facing small businesses and learn about ideas to advance small businesses and entrepreneurs in West Virginia. Specifically, the sessions are designed so individuals can:
• Share firsthand with other small businesses and entrepreneurs what is working well in the West Virginia business environment;
• Directly provide possible solutions to address challenges faced by small businesses and entrepreneurs in West Virginia; and
• Learn specific successes other business owners have achieved in West Virginia.
“These sessions are a unique opportunity for small businesses and entrepreneurs to share their views and ideas directly with West Virginia’s lawmakers,” said Anne Barth, TCWV’s Executive Director. “The delegates have been travelling around the state and are gathering input on policy matters and solutions to help grow our state’s small businesses and develop more start-up ventures.”
Attendees are encouraged to register in advance at http://listeningtour.csurv.com …or send an email to wvhodlisteningtour@cesd.wvu.edu or call 304-293-5551 x48. The event will be facilitated with the majority of time devoted to listening to the business participants attending.
