SBIR-STTR Bootcamps – 2021

January 7, 2021 - 08/05/2021

Bridging the Ecosystem in Science & Technology in West Virginia

“BEST In West Virginia”

Do you have an idea or invention that can improve our country? If so, you could receive a portion of the more than $3 billion offered each year by the Federal government through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, to get your products into the marketplace.

The SBIR and STTR programs provide early-stage, non-dilutive funding to help West Virginia entrepreneurs and small business owners research, develop, and commercialize their innovations.

TechConnect West Virginia, in partnership with the West Virginia Small Business Development Center, will host a series of Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) online bootcamps in the coming year as part of our “Bridging the Ecosystem in Science & Technology in West Virginia” program, or “BEST in West Virginia.”

Participants in the bootcamps will learn what is involved in developing a concept for a proposal, identifying opportunities, preparing to write an SBIR-STTR grant, best practices for successful applications and how to navigate the registration process.

Bootcamps will be held on the following dates:

  • January 7, 2021
  • February 4, 2021
  • March 11, 2021
  • April 1, 2021
  • May 6, 2021
  • June 3, 2021
  • July 15, 2021
  • August 5, 2021

The events are free, but registration is required.  All bootcamps will be held from 3-5 p.m.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. Contact Anne Barth at anne@techconnectwv.org for more information.

Funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
