TechConnect Continues To Produce Measurable Results For West Virginia
While TCWV has been involved in a number of key initiatives and activities over the years, the organization’s most significant impact has been its work to assist entrepreneurs and small businesses to create and maintain jobs, start new companies, and boost innovation across the state.
Through these efforts, TechConnect has created more than 230 new jobs, retained over 280 jobs, assisted 470+ entrepreneurs/companies, facilitated the formation of more than 80 new companies, created 165 new products/processes, and facilitated more than $17.5 million in new business investment.
Established by a group of economic developers, higher education representatives, researchers, industry experts, and service providers across the state, 2022 marks the 16th anniversary of TechConnect’s work as a non-profit organization dedicated to growing and diversifying West Virginia’s economy.
Grant awards from the U.S. Economic Development Administration and the State of West Virginia between 2011-2021 enabled TechConnect to provide critically important technical assistance to entrepreneurs and early-stage companies as they create new jobs and economic growth.
TechConnect’s partners in these important efforts include the Center for Applied Research & Technology, Chemical Alliance Zone, INNOVA Commercialization Group, West Virginia Manufacturing Extension Partnership, and the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at Marshall University.
Working in partnership to support and assist state entrepreneurs is a proven recipe for success and TechConnect will continue to build on this strong performance to help move West Virginia’s economy forward in the years ahead.
