WVSBDC Expands Network Of Business/Entrepreneur Coaches
West Virginia’s business/entrepreneur coaching network continues to grow and expand. The network is a program of the W.Va. Small Business Development Center and provides business development services to small businesses and entrepreneurs. The SBDC’s statewide network now numbers 18 coaches who serve businesses in every region across the Mountain State. The program also has specialists who can assist businesses with technology development, manufacturing or exporting. Among the newest coaches to join the SBDC’s coaching network are: Sam Payne, who has extensive banking and financial experience, is providing coaching services to businesses in Braxton, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Kanawha, Nicholas and Webster Counties. The WVSBDC partnered with the Central Appalachian Empowerment Zone as part of this position. Among his duties, Sam also will be the WVSBDC “point person” for disaster preparedness coaching and training. He majored in Organizational Development at Bowling Green State University and is a graduate of the Ohio School of Banking. U.S. Navy Veteran Joe Carlucci has joined the SBDC coaching network through a partnership with the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority. Joe has extensive experience with government contracting and business development management. He has a Business Administration degree from the University of Maryland University College. The SBDC also has partnered with the City of Parkersburg to establish a business coach position to support entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Mid-Ohio Valley that are looking to expand, diversify or attract new capital investment. The new small business coach will primarily focus on business retention and expansion efforts for existing businesses in the region by providing technical expertise for company growth and sustainability The City of Parkersburg, in partnership with the West Virginia SBDC, is accepting applications for a skilled business/entrepreneur coach to work with growth companies throughout the Parkersburg region.
